Where & When?

The Potter Trail leaves at the statue of Greyfriar’s Bobby on George IV Bridge in Edinburgh. It ends at nearby Victoria Terrace (please see the FAQ page for maps). Please see our Calendar page to check whether a tour is running on a specific day.

September and October 2017
Tours every day at 3pm
September 2nd at 3pm is a Magic Tour– see below

Additional Tour
The Halloween Magic Special (see below) is on Saturday October 28th at 1pm. Note the normal 3pm tour will also run on this day.

November and December 2017:
Tours Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 3pm until December 22nd.

Christmas Break:
No tours running from 23rd – 28th December

New Years Schedule:
December 29th – January 2nd 2018 – Tours running every day

January and February 2018:

From 3rd January:
Tours Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 3pm

March, April, May 2018

Tours every day of the week (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun) at 3pm

Magic Tours 2017

On these special dates, the tour is extended to 2 hours with the addition of magic from Edinburgh’s premier family-friendly conjurer, Magus Negus! These tours are best suited to family groups with children but are enjoyed by people of all ages.

Tour starts at 3pm on Saturday September 2nd 2017
Plus our Halloween Magic Special: Saturday October 28th at 1pm. Note the normal 3pm tour will also run on this day.

Magus Negus is also available for private bookings

Extra times and dates are often added in busy periods, so check this page regularly for updates or contact us. If you’d prefer a tailored experience at a time to suit, you can even book a private tour.

The tour lasts for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. This may vary, especially when the city is busy, so please leave leeway at the end of the tour if you have to run off!
