Where & When?

The Potter Trail leaves at the statue of Greyfriar’s Bobby on George IV Bridge in Edinburgh. It ends at nearby Victoria Terrace (please see theĀ FAQ page for maps). Please see our Calendar page to check whether a tour is running on a specific day.

November 2017:
Tours Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 3pm.

December 2017
Tours every day at 3pm

Christmas Break:
No tours running from 23rd – 28th December

New Years Schedule:
December 29th – January 2nd 2018 – Tours running every day at 3pm

January, February, March, April and May 2018:
Tours every day of the week (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun) at 3pm
Magic Tours (see below) are being held at 12.30pm (in addition to the 3pm tour) on Feb 18th 2018 and March 31st 2018

June 2018:
Tours every day of the week (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun) at 12pm AND 4pm

July and August 2018:
Tours every day of the week (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun) at 12pm AND 4pm
Extra Tours at 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays

Magic Tours 2018
On these special dates, the tour is extended to 2 hours with the addition of magic from Edinburgh’s premier family-friendly conjurer, Magus Negus! These tours are best suited to family groups with children but are enjoyed by people of all ages.

Magic Tours are being held at 12.30pm (in addition to the 3pm tour) on
Feb 18th 2018
and
March 31st 2018

Magus Negus is also available for private bookings

Extra times and dates are often added in busy periods, so check this page regularly for updates or contact us. If you’d prefer a tailored experience at a time to suit, you can even book a private tour.

The tour lasts for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, if the city is busy, but can be shorter (1hr 15 minutes) when the city is quiet.
